Vincent: Don’t stand there looking so smug. You’re the worst person in this room. You come here and enjoy spilling their blood and listening to them cry out. You feel excited when you step on them and snuff out their lives.
Could easily be my favourite moment from the series. Pretty much sums up how you could approach any of the games. Vincent is quite a character!
Dear lord, this is no longer even the same game. I actually saw this on the shelf today, and at a very good price for a new a release, but I think I’m definitely going to have to wait until it’s heavily discounted. What a mess.
or, “Silent Hill 2: Video Game Perfection”
More than ten years since I first played it, and five years after buying a copy, I have finally finished Silent Hill. Which is funny, since it only took me about six hours to actually beat it in the end.
Despite all of the back-tracking, which just about made the original Resident Evil look linear, the game kept me on the edge until the end (the scene above with Lisa Garland was the absolute highlight of the game). To say that I squealed like a little girl the first time I ran into the evil nurses would be an insult to little girls.
Thankfully, I have SH2 and 3 lined up and ready to play, so I think it’s going to be a pretty scary weekend.
I love reading things like this. Have a fun weekend! You should go out and get Silent Hill 4 and Origins and Homecoming as well when you finish with the first three! Maybe I’ll play a little SH myself instead of just blogging about it.
Thanks, I just picked up a cheap (new!) copy of Origins. I remember playing SH4 ages ago but, since I had no idea of the other games’ stories, I really had no idea what was going on.

I saw this last night and it really, really freaked me out
This Silent Hill Nurse Rubber Duckie Makes Bath-time Lots of Fun
One of the more frightening monsters from the survival horror video game Silent Hill resembles a deformed nurse. These strangely sexy beings wear uniforms that display their supple mounds of flesh, their faces are delightfully distorted, and their entire appearance is complemented by delicate spatters of blood. We’ve seen their likeness remade in Japanese knit form and also little plastic pony style, but if you have ever wondered what they would look like as a small, web-footed, broad-billed swimming bird, your curiosity is about to be quenched. Starting with a simple yellow rubber duckie, Undead Ed worked his magic until it was morphed into a Silent Hill nurse. If this sort of thing floats your boat, it can be yours for a mere $20
This is quite horrifying!
